This morning I blindfolded myself and asked my flatmate to hide shapes from my shape sorter in the carpeted areas of the house. I then crawled around feeling for them. I missed two, one of which was hidden in my walk in wardrobe. I removed the blindfold before walking to the music room when I replaced the blindfold and found the remaining three shapes.
Ask the child to identify the shape or put the shape back in the sorter. To increase their disorientation, spin them around and move some items in the room around.
Alternatively, have them crawling around blindfolded in a room and see how long it takes them to realise that they are feeling for shapes which aren’t there.
